We would like to extend an invitation for you to serve as a mentor for our Statewide Fatherhood and Family Initiative: Fathers Engaged and Empowered to Learn (FEEL).The mission for this initiative is to strengthen family foundations and reverse the absentee fatherhood trend by helping fathers to understand the challenges of parenting, as well as, increase their skills in building and maintaining healthy relationships.

The mission for this initiative is to strengthen family foundations and reverse the absentee fatherhood trend by helping fathers to understand the challenges of parenting, as well as, increase their skills in building and maintaining healthy relationships.

Your commitment would include the following:

  • Attending a 3-4 hour mentor training.
  • Meeting with the FEEL Advisory Council.
  • Working with a school to mentor young fathers in high school and/or college twice monthly.
  • Sharing the vision and mission of the statewide fatherhood initiative.

All materials and information will be provided for you free of charge. The work that you agree to engage in will be strictly voluntary, however, we may offer a small stipend for your time and commitment to complete this mentoring process.

We will review specific timelines, assignments, and procedures once you confirm and participate in the mentor training.

A task force formed in 2014 to work on a statewide fatherhood initiative. The purpose of the group is identifying ways to engage fathers in the early childhood education of their children. The Task Force will identify resources and activities to improve fatherhood engagement in the state of Arkansas.

 

Mission
